Blue Green Algae Poisoning

Blue-green algae is extremely toxic to dogs.

It is most commonly found in the summer months when there has been limited rainfall and in non-flowing fresh water. The best way to protect your dog from blue-green algae poisoning is to keep your dog away from lakes and ponds that you know, or suspect may contain blue-green algae. Dogs should not be allowed to swim or paddle or drink from water that contains blue-green algae.
