Latest update: July 3, 2020
We have now received further guidance from our the RCVS (our governing body) and the BVA regarding certain services that we are able to offer to help prevent outbreaks of diseases in our pets.
Nail clips, health checks and non-essential dentals (those where medicines can help) will be postponed. We will still be providing emergency service for those animals which are sick, injured, or needing to be put to sleep.
If you need to bring your pet in for treatment or examination, then we will kindly ask you to drop your pet off with minimal contact and then we will call you to discuss treatment further. This is to protect our staff, and yourselves, from spreading Covid-19. Please respect this decision and allow our staff to provide as best a service as they can in these challenging circumstances.
Vaccinations – Vaccinations and Neutering appointments can be arranged at all of our three branches. Please call your preferred branch to book your appointment. Please also call to book your puppy or kitten’s 1st or 2nd vaccination or your rabbit needs vaccinations due to seasonal risk of myxomatosis and RHD/VHD.
Neutering: We are currently Neutering bitches preseason or between seasons 1 and 2, rabbits, cats in mixed-sex household and those cats that cannot be kept in. Please call and speak to a nurse to book in.
Regular medicines – if your pet is on regular medicine we have made provisions to be able to supply this medicine in the coming weeks and months. Please do not panic buy or order excessively. We will be able to dispense medicines and arrange collection (without personal contact) at the practice.
Please order your repeat prescriptions, flea and worm treatment or food on our repeat prescriptions page https://friarsmoorvets.co.uk/contact/online-prescription-food-requests-domestic-pets/. Please allow 24 hours for your order.
Friars Moor Vets are taking the risk of Covid 19 very seriously and as a practice we are continuing to provide the best service we can in these difficult times. Every appointment will be risk assessed and we will continue to follow the government guidelines to protect both our clients and our staff.
We look forward to resuming normal service in the near future.
