Experienced Veterinary Surgeon full or part time

We are offering an exciting opportunity to join our progressive, dedicated and friendly small animal team in the heart of the North Dorset countryside due to an increase in work load and current expansion. We are looking for a veterinary surgeon with at least 2 years experience to join our team in this beautiful part of the country.

Our RCVS accredited practice is proudly independent and a member of XL Vets. We have been serving our community for over 60 years. The clinic has now progressed to dedicated small animal and livestock health teams. We are proud to run our own out of hours service with a comfortable 1 in 7 rota and ably assisted by our veterinary nurses. Our excellent, supportive nursing team consists of 9 RVNs, some of whom assist in the out of hours cover. We have 3 well equipped branch surgeries with a lovely and growing client base and our team of vets, nurses and office staff work hard together to provide an excellent service to the local area.

If you are an experienced vet, we offer support for continuing education including certificates. Our vets have full clinical freedom and there is regular, open discussion of cases and ideas. Independence allows interested vets to pursue the possibility management and directorship roles in the future.

So why should you work for us? We offer a competitive salary package, RCVS fees, BSAVA membership, funded CPD and private medical insurance. Our abiding ethos is to care for our patients and clients but also to care for each other. We’re looking for someone who will share these values. The practice was recently voted ‘Best Place to Work’ in the local business awards which speaks volumes about the type of practice we are.

Please take a look at our website for more information.

If this looks like the right job for you and you want to know more please email Justine Turnbull (Practice Manager)

Closing date 6th November 2021
