AUDIENCE: SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS AND ANYONE INTERESTED IN A CAREER IN VETERINARY
DATE: THURSDAY 4TH MARCH 2021
TIME: 2-4PM
COST: FREE OF CHARGE
PANEL DISCUSSION:
To start, we plan to hold an informal and fun panel discussion session where by our Friars Moor Livestock Health team members will introduce themselves and share their experiences on how they got to where they are today.
You will be hearing from farm vets Alice, Katie and Paul, vet technician James and sheep scanner and cattle foot trimmer Alex. They will be sharing their extensive knowledge and personal career journeys with you, which includes different insights into applying for vet school, career changes that have led to a veterinary career, being a new graduate in practice, juggling other work as a farmer and available options for post graduate qualifications and specialisation.
Q&A SESSION:
We will then have the opportunity for the question and answer session.
We currently are missing the opportunity to discuss career opportunities with students face to face and whilst we cannot offer work experience placements in the current lockdown, we feel it important to still offer this opportunity to the next generation of budding veterinarians by using a virtual platform to do this instead.
We encourage you to email us ahead of the meeting to submit any questions you may have with regards to careers in any aspect of farm animal veterinary practice. We will try our best to answer as many of these as possible on the day.
All the answers will also be made available here on our website after the event.
REGISTRATION: TO REGISTER YOUR INTEREST, TO SUBMIT ANY QUESTIONS AND TO RECEIVE LOGIN DETAILS PLEASE EMAIL.
