Friars Moor Vets are taking the risk of Covid 19 very seriously. As a practice we are continuing to provide the best service we can in these difficult times. On this page, we bring together everything you need to know about how our services are affected. We appreciate your understanding at this time.

Site-wide alert:

IMPORTANT: COVID-19

We would like to welcome you to Friars Moor Veterinary Clinic and confirm we are providing routine veterinary services.

In order to keep clients and staff members safe, we ask you to please adhere to the following guidelines set out at our branches:

  • Order your prescriptions online (including flea and worm treatment).
  • Book your routine vaccination through our online booking system.
  • Do not attend the branch if you have symptoms of Coronavirus.
  • Wear a facial covering if you are entering the premises to collect a prescription or to speak to reception.
  • Maintain social distancing.

Due to social distancing, we still do not have access for our clients to attend clinical areas.

Pets / Small Animal / Surgery Visits

We are restricting movement between our branches. As a result, there may be some variations in Surgery opening hours – when possible, advance notice will be posted here, and at the foot of every page on this website, under ‘Our Surgeries’.

If your pet is unwell please call your preferred branch of Blandford, Shaftesbury or Sturminster to book an appointment. The team will give you further information on the practice protocols and how we are adhering to social distancing.

Please ensure all repeat prescriptions are ordered via our online service and that you choose the preferred branch you would like to collect from. Please collect your repeat prescription before 4.30pm Monday-Friday.

Opening hours (effective July 13)
All three branches:

8.30am – 6pm Monday – Friday

9am – 12 noon Saturday
(Sturminster Newton: A&E,
Shaftesbury/Blandford Forum: routine appts)

We are available outside of the above times for emergencies.
