NFU sponsor evening discussion on farming enterprise

On Wednesday 24th May a farm walk was held at Hinton St Mary Farms. Farm manager Mark Harvey, the North Dorset NFU branch chairman welcomed us to the farm for a tractor and trailor tour of the estate and a discussion of the farming enterprise as a whole. Our very own farm vets, Jenny and Anthony, gave a talk on the dry cow management and how their management has improved the health of the herd. It was great to have a multi-disciplinary visit with agronomists from Pearce Seeds talking about their inputs to the arable enterprise and a representative from the NFU talking about health and safety on farm. The farm visit ended perfectly with a gorgeous BBQ and drinks at the Tithe Barn.
