Vet Services

The dedicated team of specialist farm vets at Friars Moor is committed to delivering the best possible veterinary care to livestock farmers in and around Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire.

We aim to provide a friendly, personal service, suited to the needs and aspirations of each individual client.

A proactive approach and the use of farm data to measure and monitor performance allows us to offer the best practical advice for improving health and profitability on the farms we visit.

To enhance the skills and knowledge base of farm staff we hold regular meetings, farm visits and training courses which can be tailored to our client’s individual needs. A team of vet technicians provides additional services including foot trimming, mobility and body condition scoring, sampling and herd vaccinations.

We believe in having a simple, transparent fee structure that is fair to all our clients. We are committed to providing you with the most competitive medicine prices which are regularly reviewed. Our main locations in Sturminster Newton, Shaftesbury and Blandford Forum allow clients easy access to medicines and supplies.

Friars Moor is a member of XL Vets, a nationwide group of progressive, independently owned practices which are committed to the future of UK livestock farming. XL Vets strives to achieve clinical excellence in veterinary practice. We work together sharing experience, knowledge and skills to keep us at the forefront of developments in the animal health industry.
