BV Dairy Johnes Meeting

On Wednesday 10th January farm vets Jenny and Eleanor delivered a talk to the suppliers of Blackmore Vale Dairy, based in Shaftesbury, on reducing Johnes disease on their farms. BV dairy along with 80% of the milk supply chain have signed up to the national Johnes Management Plan, a UK initiative to reduce the amount of Johnes disease in the national herd. The farmers were exceptionally well engaged and showed great enthusiasm with many of them already going to great lengths to monitor and reduce the disease on their farms. We are very grateful to BV Dairies for allowing us to come and speak to your suppliers and particularly for the excellent lunch they provided!! If you have any queries regarding Johnes disease then please do not hesitate to get in contact with the practice as 9 of our vets are BCVA accredited Johnes advisors.

Each time we walk through the surgery door at Friars Moor, we know that our pets are in the very best hands, and we feel that our pets deserve nothing less.
